Advisory
Healthcare & MedTech Advisory for Australia & New Zealand
Practical advice from someone who has spent more than 30 years leading healthcare and MedTech businesses across Australia and New Zealand.
I work with organisations and leadership teams when they need an experienced healthcare executive to help think through an important commercial or strategic issue, particularly in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The emphasis is not on producing large reports. Sometimes the most useful thing is having an experienced person in the room who can ask the right questions, challenge assumptions and bring a different perspective.
Engagements are shaped around the problem. Some are a single conversation, some are a short piece of work, and some continue as an ongoing sounding board for a CEO or leadership team.
How I work
Understand, challenge, explore, advise, decide
Understand
What are you trying to solve?
Challenge
What assumptions are you making?
Explore
What does the market, customer or organisation tell us?
Advise
What are the practical options?
Decide
What should happen next?
This is not a rigid methodology. It is simply how I approach advisory work.
Australia & New Zealand
Local market knowledge, built from the inside
Much of my career has been spent leading healthcare and MedTech businesses with responsibility for Australia and New Zealand.
That means working with the customers, hospitals, clinicians, distributors and teams that make up these markets, rather than looking at them from a distance.
For organisations based overseas, or for teams building a local business, that perspective helps separate what works elsewhere from what works here.
- How Australian and New Zealand customers buy and make decisions
- Public and private hospital and clinic settings
- Direct and distributor commercial models
- Building and leading local commercial teams
- Entering or expanding across both markets
- Adapting global strategy to local reality
Engagement style
A different kind of advisory practice
Argo is deliberately small.
That means clients work directly with David rather than being passed between teams.
Engagements are tailored to the problem, with a preference for focused, high-value work rather than large consulting programmes.
Advisory engagements are scoped individually. Indicative day rates, sprint and retainer fees are set out on the fees page.
Let’s talk about the problem.
If you have a healthcare, MedTech or leadership challenge that would benefit from an experienced perspective, get in touch.
